Normally I come on on my own, but today I've got my oldest son Lee with me and just to give you a little bit of backstory, as many of you know, I'm a hypnotherapist primarily at 30 odd years, although I don't see clients one-to-one anymore. But my lot for the last 25 years I've been making meditation recordings and they've been very successful. I've been very happy with the way the whole thing's taken off and it's been great. And and um yeah, so I'm not seeing clients one-to-one anymore. But the beauty of that is because I still get a lot of people that message me and say, Can you help me with this? Can you help me with that? And I say, Well, I can't, but I know someone who can, and that's my oldest son Lee, who's been a hypnotherapist now for how long, Lee?
SPEAKER_00Nearly 10 years, but it feels about 25.
SPEAKER_01It's it's been that's flown by.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, a long time, yeah. Probably nine years. Um I've seen a lot of people over the years. I've probably I say it feels like 20 years because um I see people every day.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Sometimes Saturdays and Sundays as well, or seven days a week, yeah.
SPEAKER_01And how many clients have you seen now in those 10 years?
SPEAKER_00Uh probably I'd say more than six thousand. Wow. More than six thousand. I I tend to see about twenty-five different people a week from around the world.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And yeah, that usually racks up to about hundred sessions a month. So it's a lot, all different problems and issues that people go through.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and I can honestly say, you know, nepotism aside, Lee is brilliant at what he does, and I have no problem recommending him to people that ask me for therapy and ask me for help. And I can see there's names on the list that have actually seen Lee.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Lee recognise some names now.
SPEAKER_01So um, yeah, it's wonderful. It's great for me because I kind of retired from ones-ones, but yeah, you know, the next generation's come through, and now Lee's seeing clients, and I've I you know he's getting amazing, amazing results. You can uh Lee's got a website, leeherald.com, you can check that out if you've ever need help with hypnotherapy. And so, yeah, it's been a really nice journey, and I'm gonna go back a little bit. We're gonna as we go on, we're gonna talk about um consciousness and living a really sovereign life in this day and age, and we'll talk about how we do that. You know, we were we were actually camping last night in um Lee's garden along the coast here on the Algarve where Lee lives, and your two little boys were there, my two older kids were there, Lee's half-brothers, and we just had this wonderful night, didn't we? Yeah, we were sitting outside the tents looking up at the stars, you know, not too much light pollution, and we were sitting there and we honestly said to each other, we said, How did we get here? Yeah, this is we're living the dream.
SPEAKER_00It was brilliant, and I think sometimes when you um follow that simplicity and that kind of natural beauty of being in nature and together with your family, and just enjoying the simple things, yeah. That's where that's where connection is, and that's essentially what living a conscious life is all about, just being present where you are.
SPEAKER_01Um the simple things, we prioritise the simple things, don't we? Like family, our health and our well-being, you know, uh our careers are you know third choice, um, and we work hard at that, and so um and we made a conscious effort as well, didn't we, to say let's limit our time on our phones or social media.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Um and we done okay. We weren't a hundred percent successful, but we we were pretty close.
SPEAKER_01We have no phones tonight, we're gonna sit out, look under the stars of that, and then we went to uh there's a park nearby Lee's where they've got these uh monkey an outside gym. An outside gym, monkey bars and all that kind of thing. And we got on them, didn't we? And then the kids got on them, and we were showing them how to do that, and then I started doing the monkey bars, didn't I? And I think I'm 64 and I'm doing these monkey bars clowning across. And Lily went, This is brilliant, Dad. He said, We'll get some really good content for this.
SPEAKER_00I mean, obviously, you know, I do them regularly. I'm 39, so it's different. Dad's 64, and dad was doing a good job, and I said, Dad, you've got to get a quick video of this because this is inspiring for all of us, anyway. Um, you know, we got that, but I think overall we'd done really good to be present and just enjoy the activity, didn't we? We did, overall, yeah.
SPEAKER_01We were there, we were with the kids, weren't we? And we were having laughs and watching shooting stars in the sky.
SPEAKER_00It was it was just but the video will be on social media this week, so you can all look out for it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, that's it. So so yeah, so we were kind of um you know, we you can only really teach what what you are and what you're doing authentically. So we feel confident we can teach, you know, how to live a sovereign conscious lifestyle because we've created that ourself and you know come from um a a different kind of background to that, you know. So so you know, your upbringing was uh very normal and your teenage life is normal, but you did all the things that teenagers do, yeah. You know, you nightclubbing and that kind of thing. You grew up in Essex, so you know, you're you're very down to earth in that way and grounded, and but your your journey changed in your mid-twenties dramatically. I mean when I just to go back a little bit, I became a hypnotherapist when Lee was about six. So I would then, you know, anytime Lee had a problem with an examination or he was struggling with anything, I'd use hypnosis, you know, appropriate for a six-year-old, little stories with metaphors woven in. And Lee always loved it, you know, he loved these little stories, and they helped when you were uh training judo and that kind of thing back in the day. And so, you know, it's kind of in it was ingrained in you, and you know, as you you know became older and you know you left school, you didn't know what you wanted to do, you became uh an estate agent, which you were very successful at, weren't you, for a number of years, and which was kind of a good precursor to becoming a hypnotherapist, wasn't it? So tell us a little bit about that, Lee, how you went from that into hypnotherapy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I I think like when you're when you're young and you're finding your way in the world, we're very much programmed to go through the education shit system, to find a good career, to settle, whether it's from our parents or or the system, and you know, we can kind of get locked into material life quite quite quickly, and that can be our identity, whether it's the next promotion, whether it's a certain figure that we want to earn, whether it's buying the house or the apartment, and that becomes our focus. But I think what's really important with conscious living is at some point we go deeper and we start to question you know, what's life all about? Why are we here? Are we just being moved by the system? Are our decisions just being influenced by people around us, or are we going to go into our heart intelligence and try and figure out what this is all about and make good use of the time? And I think it was good for me. It came fairly early. I was probably about 26. I started asking questions of you know, how can we be happy? Is it through the acquisition of material life, or is it through helping people? Is it through um pleasure? You know, what is it? And I was asking myself all these questions, and I just delved deeper and deeper into that. I was lucky to meet a lot of good people, a lot of spiritual teachers that helped me on my way.
SPEAKER_01Tell tell the guys your your story, because I love this story where you were going to that nightclub with your mates, and then you met that homeless guy. Oh yeah, and you met the you know, you kind of got into the Krishna. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That was the big turning point for you, wasn't it?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I so I used to work and spend a lot of time in central London, and um, you know, I I got lucky because I bumped into a couple of a couple of people on the street that invited me to certain spiritual events, and I kind of just felt it was the right path for me. And when I look back now, it looks like a well-crafted novel in the sense that I was supposed to be in that place at that time. I met this monk on the street that was literally gleaming, he was very happy, and I was like really impressed with him, and and I wanted to talk to him because he felt good, he felt like a high vibe guy. And um anyway, I I agreed to go to the temple and um he invited me there, and it was it was an incredible experience, and from that it kind of springboarded me into see life differently and move out of my head into like worrying about earning more money or things like this that kind of plague us a lot of the time and worrying about bills and stuff.
SPEAKER_01By your own account at that time, you were into nightclub in designer gear, weren't you growing up in the city? Like a lot of young people are caught up in that trap of wanting flash cars and all that kind of thing, and then suddenly you met the monk and you're you just went in a different direction, didn't you? It was amazing.
SPEAKER_00I I'm I'm a big believer that you can meet people for very short periods of time and they can have a profound impact on your life, and it sounds strange sometimes. So there's people that I've known all my life that have not really influenced me in any way, but there are some people that I've met for five minutes and had a really profound impact on the journey that I've gone, and it's something I've always tried to cultivate. So since then, that kind of got me on a new path of opening my heart, understanding what heart setting intelligence is all about, and and what do we need to do with it, and it's essentially we need to help ourselves and then springboard springboard um our vibration to help other people, and that can be in many different ways. That could be for our work, that could be uh with our family. Now, that doesn't mean that we exhaust ourselves and it becomes detrimental to us. We need to keep ourselves in a good place, and when we are we use that as a service to help others and create a real kind of culture around us of a positive positive life, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01And you know, we we keep ourselves in a good place by making choices that you know are aligned with the path that you want to go on, you know. So if you're aiming to raise your vibrational energy and your consciousness, you know, one of the most important things you do is become fit and healthy, you know, as fit and healthy as you can be. Um so that's something that's become super important, you know. And I was talking to you last night because when when Lee was small, we'd uh you know, we'd hang out and we'd go to McDonald's, you know, when you were six, and like um, you know, these crappy pizza places, and then we'd feel wiped out in the afternoon and couldn't understand it. And then I'd you know, knock back a couple of beers and think, you know, why why am I feeling so heavy? Why am I feeling so dense? And and when you break out of all those I mean they're essentially slave traps, you know, alcohol, junk food, crap TV, you know, crap on the internet, it's it's a slave trap. It keeps you in a low vibrational state. And it's only when you break out of all that and you live consciously and you live with an awareness that you realise how trapped you were and how unconscious you were, and how you can't see your way out of that matrix, and you know, without going too conspiratorial, it's a lot of it is by design, which is why it's so important to have your uh you know your sovereign health at the forefront of everything you do, and yeah, it's something that we we thrive on, and we share a lot of tips with each other, don't we?
SPEAKER_00You know, we yeah, yeah. Do you know it's funny because everything's a choice in frequency, so when you're presented with a choice, you've got to think, does this serve the frequency that I want to go on? Yeah, and of course, like I I'm gonna be completely honest with you, you know, sometimes I I want to eat food that's not good for me. Yeah, sometimes I will, but most of the time I'll think to myself, right, I've got five clients today, and I need to be really sharp, I need to my intuition needs to be good, yeah, my mental clarity needs to be good. So this choice of what I can have for lunch is a frequency choice. What's gonna serve me better, what's gonna serve my work better on my sessions? Yeah, and I think sometimes asking yourself, even company and people, you've got to ask yourself, is this choice in frequency the best for me? Yeah. Sometimes saying no is okay, yeah, you know, is it's a good thing. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So um, let's see. Uh you guys, if you've got any questions, you've heard of speak for a little bit. If you've got any questions you would like us to answer, please do. So Catherine's saying, Lee is your clone. It's like looking at you as a version of you. Yeah, absolutely. We are so similar, we're both Geminis. And from a young age, we've always had a real quick common bond, you know. It's yeah, just you know, and we're we're mates now, you know, Lee's a father of two. I've got two other boys that are Lee's half-brothers, and we've got so more in common now than we've ever had, haven't we? Because we're in a even though I'm 25 years older, we've got a lot in you know, similar points in our life. And um so there we go. Are related to each other? Is consciousness and six are related to each other? I'm not sure about that one. I'm not sure. Gemini here too. Okay, so we've got other Geminis on there. So we're very um we kind of understand each other, Geminis, because we've got the two sides, you know, we can be very impulsive and we spark each other up quick. And so I've always understand Lee. Lee Lee's mum used to say to me sometimes, she said, I don't know, I don't understand what he's doing there. And I'd know straight away, she'd tell me something, and I'd know straight away because I understood where you were at, and yeah, so I always helped help Lee's mum.
SPEAKER_00If anyone has any questions at all, feel free to ask on on anything, you know. Um yeah, I I mean, like getting back to obviously consciousness, sometimes we hear the word a lot these days, and and for me it it's kind of trying to live authentically as possible, and with presence, you know, sometimes we do our activities on autopilot, or you know, it I I'm I'm more aware when I do it, but my brain's running in the background thinking of other things, and it's just bringing that awareness back to the present moment of where you are. And if someone was to say to me, Well, why why do that? Generally speaking, I I feel within myself when I'm living more consciously, when I'm more present, the results in what I do is better, my relationships are built better, my time alone in solitude is better because I'm more peaceful, the work you can do is better, and I just find that it's such a win-win, and even the people around you benefit more from you because you're living more presently and consciously. It's that ripple effect, isn't it?
SPEAKER_01A ripple effect, and also also, and that comes from uh choices you make, doesn't it? You know, so you you're able to raise your vibrational energy because of the choices you make and because of the discipline that you you know uh live by live by in your life, and so that's a really important thing to to focus on, you know, to have uh discipline and control. And so if there's anything in life that's holding you back, any you know, subtle uh tendencies or addictions or whatever it is. And we've all got something. Of course we have, yeah, we're human beings, aren't we? You know, I mean I mean when I me crying up, but I was talking to you last night, you know, gambling was a massive thing. I was addicted to gambling, I was addicted to alcohol for a while, you know, and a a lot of low vibrational things got a hold of me when I was young, because I was looking for I was looking for sanctuary from a very, very traumatic upbringing, which I've talked about on other podcasts. Um and those things brought me comfort, you know, the highs from gambling, the highs from uh the solitude you feel when you're drunk, you know, or you're on drugs, they numb the pain, they take take you out of the reality of your you know pain body, and you're you're you feel safe at that moment, you're out of out of the norm. And if the norm's really bleak and dark, it takes you out of that. So but you know, then when you come round, you know, you come down, the the problems are still there, the pain's still there. It doesn't change anything, you know, it just makes it worse because you go into depressive states, you know, and experienced a lot of that when I was younger. But for me, it was having the awakening in my late 20s that you know, where I I had this epiphany, I had this massive spiritual awakening that came out the blue and really hit me like a a bolt, and it was amazing. And I look back to that and it changed the course of my life. And it was literally that I I woke up one night and just had this profound sense of love for myself, my younger self, and compassion, and this feeling of that I wanted to do good in the world, and from there on, you know, I joined the little Kent Healers group in England where I was living at the time, and just immersed myself in a different way of life, read loads of books on spirituality and consciousness back in the early 90s. This was, and you know, the interesting thing is that was my awakening, changed the course of my life. You know, when you got into the Krishna consciousness movement in your similar sort of age to me, that completely changed the direction, and you know, I'd love for you to tell people about your experiences with that, you know, to the point I love that story where you went to Hungary and you were in the forest with the Krishna guys, and you were all chanting, and you were chanting for hours, and you just reached this nirvana state. Yeah, and that was so you had the similar kind of awakening to me at this around the same age, which we're both we look back on and we're both very thankful for.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, one of the best quotes I've learned on my journey is above all else, seek good company, and your association, the people around you, the people that you learn from, whether that's a mentor, whether that's friends, it's really, really important. And I got fortunate to meet some really good people that invited me to some amazing spiritual retreats and sanctuaries, and I had like some incredible experiences, wild experiences that really transformed me that were that were quite kind of instant at the time. You know, I I would be, you know, doing ceremonies of like chanting and meditation deep in solitude for a long time and um well I say a long time, like hours and hours, and you'd come out and you would realise a lot of the errors of your ways and areas that you need to perfect or or to improve upon. And um, I had those realisations. I was very fortunate that was in my 20s, 20s, so I kind of realised where I was going wrong and where I needed to go.
SPEAKER_01I think that's a good point because the spiritual path it kind of shines a light on your you know, your shadow and it shows you the things that you need to initially heal within yourself to go higher. Yeah, that's an important part of it because you know for me I grew up, you know, as I said, in a traumatic life, and I was very so my adult life was failure, failure, failure. Relationships, money, businesses, um, you know, I just hit brick walls all the time and I constantly blamed my upbringing and my past. And you know, once I got in the spiritual path, I took responsibility. I stopped blaming, I stopped, I broke out of the victim mode, and I started to take responsibility for my life, and and that comes from having a higher spiritual awareness and you know seeing your own you know shadow aspect, yeah. And that's a real revelation, isn't it? When you get into that, and it was interesting you mentioned that then because it does, it takes you into a different mindset, and you then start to think, well, how do I heal this rather than playing the victim all the time? You you look for for solutions to you know what is it in me I need to change to to go higher and to vibe higher.
SPEAKER_00Situations are like thrust upon us that we need to that expose where we need to do the healing, and it might be a person, it might be an irritation, even. You know, we've all we've all had situations that we you know we can't understand why someone's acting that way, but it's showing us where we need to heal and where we need to improve. Yeah, because you're only triggered by something that's in you in the first place.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you're not being triggered by an external circumstance, it's something you need to heal within yourself, isn't it?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, of course. Uh like of course there are like outright injustices, so it's not, but we still always need to look within ourselves and see what what that brings up. Do you know what I mean? Um we've got some good questions here.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so Catherine's saying, how many hypnosis sessions does it take to make a difference for a person? Does it just depend on the person? Is there a certain preparation for a hypnosis session?
SPEAKER_00Shall I tell you what I'll do? You're the man for that lady. Do you want to dad you want to turn that off as well or do you want to keep it going? It's up to you. It's gonna get hot in here. Yeah, okay, yeah, that's good. Um so what I would say is this is a great question. Everyone is so different. I've had people that have come to me for big, big problems that they've had for 40 years, and we've done one session, and I would say they've been free of it by 99%. Like, to the point where I've said, you don't really need to come back and see me again, save your money, you're good. You know, you don't need to come back and see me again. You can if you want, but that's that's happened. I I wouldn't say regularly, regularly, but it happens fairly often.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they're great sessions, they're gonna be great sessions.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, they're they're amazing, and um yeah, I can tell like there's ten stories that come to my mind that I won't that I'll share a different day where even I've been surprised when someone's come to me because usually I tend to say to people, look, do three sessions, see how you get on, or do the first session, see how you get on. But on average, most people tend to do about three to four, I would say.
SPEAKER_01Three to four sessions is average, and it does depend on the issue, you know, whatever it is, if it's something that's uh you know, stopping smoking, for example. That for me, my training was that that was normally a one-session treatment. Yeah, so you throw everything at it in one session, and by and large, you know, that if somebody's motivated enough, they stop. Yeah in that one session. If you're you don't need six sessions for stopping smoking, it's a simple you just get out you you break the attachment with smoking and everything associated with it, and that's it, out of your life. With weight loss, for example, that's a bit different because you can't stop eating. food. But you ha you know, so it's a bit more complex.
SPEAKER_00It's a more complex, yeah, because other people have different areas that they'll need to lean into more around that subject. Yeah. Um but yeah I you know it's it's a great question.
SPEAKER_01So there's a lot Megan, the lovely Megan, how do you show yourself kindness and compassion and return to the path of consciousness. Some people never start when they begin with self-doubt and self-worth like they just how would you help clients in a one-to-one situation? I mean that's that one I think yeah well you know it's hard it's hard when you're you know when when the self-esteem and the self-confidence and self-worth is very it's destroyed throughout your childhood. You know it's very very low. I've seen people with that and you know actually for me as an when I was a kid that was quite an issue for me lack of confidence lack of self-worth and I told you this recently didn't I and you were quite surprised because I suppose that part of my life you never saw you know I've told you stories and that but you know I I really did lack a lot of self-confidence because I was often told I was stupid I was often told I was never going to amount to anything I was kicked out of school when I was 15 and I I had this failure sort of programming. So that was one as soon as I became a hypnotherapist and I started to learn the tools that you could use to clear a lot of these failure programming failure programs that were loaded onto me I worked at that a lot and you know even when I started doing webinars I didn't feel confident on them you know because I had this program running that was telling me you know what have you got to say you know you're you're stupid you know I'm still ticking away and in my unconscious and so I every time that came up I'd work on it you know where's this coming from I you know and I could almost pinpoint incidents in my childhood that I'd regress back to and I could change the old program and replace it with something positive and I've worked on that you know for a long long time so that that's been a big one for me. So I think in answer to your question Megan you just have to keep working on it. You know if that's your particular issue and it's something that's a big thing for you and we've all got different things you know no none of us have got the same set of issues but some you have to give more attention to and and that was a massive part and one of the things I did and I did this before I even became a hypnotherapist and I'll tell you a little another little story. So when when I was uh 19 I was in a band and we won a big pop competition in the US UK when I was 19 and we started doing interviews and I could never speak on the microphone because I was always I just couldn't speak I didn't have any confidence all the other lads would speak um and then yeah so that was that was a massive thing so when I started doing webinars I I'd revert back to that and I I tongue I couldn't I felt didn't feel worthy I was going to say something else then I got on another train of thought but it's just one you've got to keep working on that was it so I got a job years later in a in a cab office a mini cab office and just the thought of being around other drivers and other people it it it spooked me I didn't feel confident even in that kind of environment so I used to say to myself I I like people and I get on with people I just invented this little affirmation before I knew anything about hypnotherm and I'd say that before as I was driving into the cab office I like people I always get on well with people just something simple like that and I found that a few weeks in I started liking people more and getting on with people. I programmed myself before I became a hypnotherapist and and then naturally led me into hypnotherapy and I realized the power of things like that. So I just I just work on it any issue you've got just work on it with positive affirmations in the present sense in the present tense but also if there's deeper issues there then you can sometimes work with a good therapist like Lee or somebody like that who can help you clear the the core wound that's a really important thing. So yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah yeah and I I'll just say as well like what you've described is the old program is the old script and the old script is basically um like conditioning from before we're the age of say twelve we're absorbing our environment what we're being told by people so I'll keep talking it's the AI we're back it's an AI camera and it's got a mind of its own oh why is it doing that? Anyway I'll carry on the story so what what we have to do is we change the old script and we can change the old script in in many different ways but like for example the way I use it is undoing a lot of that work and then reprogramming it with the new script what do we want more of we call it the solution state the solution state is becoming more and more what we want so ask yourself this question if I had a magic wand what would I want to change what would I want to improve upon how would I want to feel and that's a really really nice way of kind of introspectively trying to find out what direction you want to go in and how you want to improve upon yourself. So I hope that makes sense. Yeah that's great we're good yeah no it just it's got a mind of its own I mean I focus it on you yeah yeah cool but it's um yeah if any has any questions um feel free to ask but that's good yeah it's alright dad it'll find its way it will we're back I'll move over just on me yeah cool we're good we're good yeah we're good um challenges eh about the people AI what an amazing invention that sometimes is not amazing uh so I'll let you read the next question Dad so where are we?
SPEAKER_01Which one's that kid the uh I think uh Margaret uh good question I think you missed the uh Clara metaphors so Clara's asking do you find that metaphors can help amplify love and compassion? That's a good question Clara and you you can go for that one so I think um metaphors can help with amplifying love and compassion without a doubt they certainly can um so when when I used to hypnotize you when you were a kid I would use metaphors woven into the uh little hypnosis stories so yeah and ultimately you're you know most client sessions you're help you're trying to revert them to a state of love and compassion so and there's different ways of helping people to get there some people are very visual and they might say to me Lee I just can't see my future that's a really good example of someone that's very visual so using visual more kind of visual metaphors and examples would be a good route of there.
SPEAKER_00Some people I'm quite feeling based so you know like the temperature of the room or the seat that I'm sitting on I'll be quite tuned into that so if the client's quite tuned in that way then you'd use more kind of feeling based metaphors or examples or stories or references. Does that kind of make sense? So yeah the answer is it it all depends on the person and you'd attune how you help people towards their life based on how people receive information. Hope that makes sense.
SPEAKER_01That's perfect yeah sorry the AI camera's doing its own thing and it's got thrown us a little bit but um so Megan is saying no never mind just for many people don't start and could heal so much if they would was wondering how Lee would start to get what people need to work on. So how do you tune into someone when you've got a new client that comes along how do you know where to go?
SPEAKER_00Yeah um this is my forte I would say the reason why I've seen so many people is because I can I know within probably 10-15 minutes of where to go with the person um probably based on experience and and doing it for a very long time every day so when you repeat and do something all the time you you get pretty good at it fairly quickly. Also through like emotional intelligence and also a little bit of intuition as well you kind of get a feeling of what that person needs pretty quickly and I would say if you was to say to me at least summarise that in one sentence I would say it's more heart intelligence. So kind of getting out my head and thinking oh I'm gonna do this technique with that person because that's just my training a little bit of that but also going into the heart and kind of feeling what that person needs and that's really important. That's when you become more of a multi-dimensional therapist because you can flick between the head and the heart and tune in and after 15 20 minutes know what that person needs. That's yeah imperative.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely and so you know and I know there's people joining at different times we've got 100 now which is fabulous and so we'll go back to you know what we we were talking about earlier where we're you know living um like what we feel is a very conscious high vibe life. You know I said this at the beginning but we were we camped last night at in Lee's garden up here on the Algarve along the coast and Lee's two little boys were there Lee was sleeping with his older one in one tent and I was with my other two boys Lee's half brothers in the other tent and we just had this most blissful evening where we sat out under the stars and we just had this moment where we said you know just full of gratitude for for the life we're living now and you know how it and I said to Lee I said how did this all come about? How did we get here? You know we're we're we're healthy we're fit we're abundant in so many ways we've got beautiful kids we're we're camping out on all all the kids you know the kids just adore each other don't they and it's such a an amazing place to be we've got careers that we both love you know if you tick all those the boxes of what the foundations of what makes you happy in life you know they're all there so we we just had this moment of real gratitude and and also for both having woken up in this lifetime had this spiritual awakening at different times and and it's kind of what we teach now you know we're very passionate about teaching these subjects because you know I think you can only teach from an authentic place when you've you know not mastered it because that's too grand but you try to implement it into your life. You implement it as much as you can into your life you know so you do you do live what you teach and you know for us you know being fit healthy meditation spiritual practice you know being compassionate loving all of those things become a part of your life that you know just so important and they uh improve the quality of your life so much don't they?
SPEAKER_00Absolutely absolutely and uh please forgive us if we've missed any questions as well there's a few other AI glitch the camera just went AWOL I've been meaning to change it for ages.
SPEAKER_01It's actually a really good camera but it just got this it's developed its own mind. You know like the big fear with AI is that it becomes self-conscious and it becomes uh makes its own decisions that's what my camera's done it's actually living its own life now or I used I used to program it and it did what it was told it become sovereign so Rishi is saying if the spirit is invisible how does it exist maybe it's even smaller than just symbolic just a symbolic it's like waterbap you cannot see it we cannot see it. It's a good question is a great question but I you know I think um spirit is energy and everything is energy you know we're energetic beings you know emitting certain frequencies and you know it's one of the things that I found when I when I started to get clearer and more conscious and you know the addictions and bad habits fell away then I started to naturally connect with people that were on a similar vibrational path so you're you're naturally drawn to people who are at the same vi the same vibrational frequency as you so yeah that's a good question that isn't it Lee that one how would you expand on that?
SPEAKER_00I mean the way I see it is um spirit soul um the Vedic wordma is the Sanskrit word is like the essence of who we are um that's how I've always seen it and I try to just kind of peel back my conditioning of identifying with body with myself with my name the best I could possibly can and just try to go to to soul because that's the that's my internal spark and that's hopefully what the what will always live on.
SPEAKER_01So that's a good really good point that because so many you know we all identify with our past their story our name family where we've come from yeah it's just part of the script.
SPEAKER_00Yeah it's part of the script so how how do you go beyond that can you elaborate a little bit on that's a good point um I mean to connect with your spirit the short answer is uh progressing in your spiritual life is what will help you identify with your true self how that looks that's different for different people sometimes it can be a blissful awakening sometimes it can be just a slow way of progressing and kind of letting go of what doesn't serve you anymore whether it's certain people or a crowd or a job or you know it could be many different things but just naturally the more that you identify with your your true self which is the essence of who you are you kind of naturally ascend and the the the old things that were kind of weighing you down or what you were identifying with become kind of less important and a little more redundant.
SPEAKER_01Yeah that's a good point as well because I think as you progress on that journey you actually experience life in a different way you know so when you become um more conscious you have more awareness uh you become fitter you know another byproduct of becoming very very fit and healthy is that your connection with the divine becomes stronger and I follow a really good guy on um Instagram called Josh Mason who's all about gut health detoxing you know he's a jujitsu practitioner he's experienced many ayahuasca ceremonies and he talks about all this stuff and I love following him he's very and he said that one day and it really resonated with me. So he said that as he got rid of his health problems and cleaned his gut and allowed his body to function at the maximum capability he said he had this spiritual connection for the first time that was stronger than anything he'd ever experienced before. So you know he wasn't carrying around this heavy sluggish body anymore and it was free and so that connection to the divine becomes stronger and I've kind of I can you know vouch for that I've experienced similar things myself so yeah it's another product of becoming as fit and healthy as you can at at whatever age you know like I said last I was I'm 64 now and I was doing monkey bars last night wasn't I in the You were doing good I I was impressed actually yeah well he leave video surprised at first the first ten minutes he could do like a couple of reps and then by 25 minutes in he was doing the whole thing. And do you know what part of me thought I thought I'm 64 I can't be doing that watching the kids do it and then suddenly I flipped out of that I you know let go of that thought and and I could do it and I allowed myself to do it.
SPEAKER_00Limiting belief that you let go of exactly there you go.
SPEAKER_01So Megan's asking a really good question does the Bhagavad Gita still have a place in your practice um yes it does I've kind of um yeah it was one of my big influences and kind of like a life guide early on in in my journey and um yeah so it does um I don't read as much from it these days but the philosophy is always there and it's definitely influenced my career and the way I work and a lot of these concepts that I learned from it are with me all the time so yeah it's something I hold in my heart and yeah I mean the amazing thing with that is that when you you know started going to the Krishna temple in Watford in England you were learning so much at that time weren't you you were really it was fast track your spiritual journey and I got you got to a point where you know up until that point I'd always been your teacher you'd always come to me for advice but then I found as Lee learnt so much about Krishna consciousness I was asking you for advice you know because your spiritual knowledge had expanded and and I loved it you know it was such a nice transition that I was asking you for help and guidance. Yeah and it was lovely and you know because you spent time at the Krishna manor didn't you back to the Denton manor.
SPEAKER_00I'd done well for a few years I was very immersed in it. Yeah you even got married there didn't you at the temple. Yeah yeah yeah yeah and you met some amazing cool people some monks who uh and Lee used to tell me about these monks who lived in the temple had no material possessions they'd get up at four o'clock in the morning they'd clean the the rooms there they'd be of service throughout the whole day they'd meditate you know multiple times throughout the day they'd be out on the streets in London serving food to the homeless living this life that seemed from the outside quite austere and quite um strict and regulated yeah to for to a lot of people but then when I'd be around them I would have realized they had something that necessarily I didn't see in other people in society and I was like well I'd rather be with these guys because they seem happier yeah so I started chilling out with them on weekends and spending time with them and learning and and enjoying the process and I and you know obviously the subject today is unconsciousness and that's been one of the most profound influences in my life being around a lot of these guys that that taught me and they were in the mood of service of prayer of meditation um of charitable endeavour and just living with an open heart and as a young guy I I would see this and be like these guys seem like they're doing better than a lot of people I know so I'm gonna stick with them and see where this takes me yeah and uh it springboarded me into my life and um I'm always grateful to a lot of those monks that helped me all those years ago.
SPEAKER_01Yeah yeah and you're still mates with a lot of them aren't you? Yeah yeah still I've got a very good relationship with them so yeah yeah a few people have asked this maybe consciousness or soul are the same thing or is it related? So I think I think consciousness is something you can expand. You know in a lot of my meditations I talk about expanding your consciousness and I think I think your soul is your you know it's the the who you are it's at the heart of you you come into this world as a soul and you leave this world the same soul you know but hopefully on the journey you've expanded your consciousness you've learnt a lot of lessons you've cleared karma you know that's my belief you can speak to a hundred different spiritual teachers and they might all have a different take on it I've never met anyone who's got the definitive answers on these things. Yeah because it's such a a an enormous topic but I think consciousness is something you develop in your lifetime you know if you're actively seeking that and I think by doing that you your soul progresses. So I do think the two things are separate. I think your soul has the opportunity to grow through the developed consciousness that you experience in this lifetime. And I I heard a fascinating thing the other day that as a soul before you enter this lifetime you can almost choose the kind of life that you take on where you can choose a life of a lot of suffering that's going to elevate your soul along the path more rapidly than if you seek a a life of comfort you know where your most of your needs are taken care of and you you know you're you incarnate with two conscious parents who nurture you a lot and it I th I I I don't know how true that is but I thought that was a really interesting concept and it made me think maybe we do have this opportunity and I do remember and I've told you about this I've told family about this where I I can remember I don't remember a lot of things about my early childhood and you know I think I blocked a lot of things out but you know I have little flashbacks now and again but all through my childhood I had this memory of before I came into this world and I remembered being in this place where it was in between worlds. It was like and it's almost hard to put into words but there was nothing below me nothing above there was I was just I would think I was in spirit form I was in soul form you know before I had a physical body and I didn't know what it was when I was a kid I didn't really understand it but the the feeling was so strong and it was only as I got older and I understood spirituality and I realized I was in between two worlds the world I came from and this world and I remember I had this feeling that I could go back to the place that I came from which was there was peace there. There was peace and harmony or I could go forward to progress but there was part of me that was really scared of what I was going into you know for good reason because it was it was a tough journey but I there was something in me that told me I had to go forward. I had to come into this life, and you know, as it turns out now, 64, got amazing kids, I've got an amazing life, it all panned out. Um, but yeah, that's a little story that I has always been with me, and I think it was the life before I came into this one where I did have the choice to go back or to come in, experience hardship and suffering, uh, but to learn lessons from it and to grow. Yeah, yeah, that's that's what it was.
SPEAKER_00And sorry if we missed any questions as well. Uh take a look.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Um karma is saying monks live higher. Monks live up on higher most of the time. It's a lifestyle healthier than the average person, serving the status of our life. We can learn from their priorities. Absolutely. You know, you do, you learn a lot from people who have kind of dedicated their life. You know, we we've again we've talked about this where you look at the monks and you see them so happy and blissed out, and you think, well, why don't we become a monk? Why don't we shave our heads, grow the little thing at the back, and become become monks because they're happy, they're showing us how life can be. But you know, we both said we're not ready for that kind of lifestyle in this lifetime, maybe it's another lifetime, you know. But that that is a powerful choice to to live a life where you're completely in service to others, and spiritual life is at the forefront of your life, and there's no no temptation. You've you've be you're way beyond any temptation or any um what is it they call it? Uh Maya.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah. The illusion of it, yeah, exactly. Um yeah, but I mean I I I do strongly believe for for all of us actually here that we can live a conscious life in day-to-day activity. You know, we've all got jobs, we've got families, we've got friends, um, we've got duties, and one of the most important things is to be able to live consciously within those duties. Sometimes retreating off and meditating is a way, and that's good, but that's not for everyone, that's actually for quite a small percentage of people. And even when I tried to join the temple, they kind of said to me, Look, you know, we don't think this way is for you, it's not for probably most people. So then, you know, living our life and our routines and doing it duty-bound with a heart-centred intelligence and trying to do our best in every activity, not perfection, but excellence, always trying to better ourselves and improve and live a conscious life is the way, and we can do that in our day-to-day life, even if times months go by and it's not overly eventful, and we're locked into a routine, we can still do it with a conscious heart, and um I think that is that's a great victory, yeah, if we can do that.
SPEAKER_01So implement more and more of it into your life, and that becomes the norm, then, doesn't it? You habit stack these things, don't you?
SPEAKER_00A lot of the beauty is sometimes doing mundane activities with a conscious, happy heart.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you told me a great story of that when we lived in Fangarola in Spain about seven or eight years ago, and my dad my dad came out and you lived with my dad, so his grand Lee's granddad, in an apartment for about six weeks in Fangarola, and my dad's you know, he's a very unconscious person, he's a boozer, you know, he's got no understanding of what we do, he's just you know worlds apart. And and you said that Lee was clearing up the apartment, you know, clearing up behind him and clearing the toilet and that kind of thing, and and you said to me that you you were doing those jobs from a place of presence and consciousness, and no no um uh frustration that you were looking after this old your granddad, and he was chuck he was a messy old boy, and you you didn't have any resentment, you were doing it from a place of love, and exactly what you've just said there. Yeah, and it changed so even if you're cleaning the toilet, you can have a consciousness around doing that. Any mundane task you do, if you bring conscious awareness to it, there's a spirituality in that, just doing those acts, and yeah, that's a good lesson. You you when you told me that, I thought, yeah, that's what an amazing thing that is.
SPEAKER_00But full disclosure, I learned that a bit later on in life. Like initially, I I didn't really want to do those. I remember when I went to stay in the your mother batch for that. Yeah, messy bedroom. I went to stay in um the ashram, and I've told this story before, but basically you'd have um like a rotor of who needs to be doing the duties and kind of cleaning and clearing up, and uh my name was on there, and I remember thinking, like, I I want to do the fun stuff, can I just scrub my name out and bypass that? Um, and I think I said that to one of the monks, and he's like, No, you can't, basically, and he said, think of what you don't want to do in your resistance against it to try to transmute it into a spiritual activity. So do your chanting when you're doing it, try to be mindful, try to open up your heart when you're doing it, and see how that activity uh transmutes. And and that did set me very well for when I left the Astraham and I had to start tidying my room more and my apartment, and I kind of got better at it because for probably 25 years before that I wasn't very good at it.
SPEAKER_01I mean, the bar was low to start, wasn't it?
SPEAKER_00It was pretty low, but I've got better now, so that's a quite a good ex example actually of sometimes you know, sometimes our nature is a certain way, sometimes we're just naturally more tidy or naturally this way or that way, and that that's okay, we're all different. But being conscious in that area and trying to be present and do the thing where there's resistance with a heart-centred approach is sometimes the springball we need to overcome it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because if you could do that, if you can clean the loo with a consciousness and a spiritual intention, you can do anything. Yeah, absolutely anything. Yeah. Nice questions. Yeah, Carol's asking a good question about do you think spirit has more energy than soul? So I think we are all individual souls that are part of the collective consciousness. You know, we are all one, one consciousness, but experiencing life uh through our senses and through our experiences. But I think um spirit is infinite. You know, there's no limitation to you know the love you can experience, the consciousness you can experience. And I think as a soul, we come into this life to experience those things and to connect with them strongly that enriches your soul. So I think, yeah, spirit has more energy than soul in that in that sense.
SPEAKER_00And yeah, thank you for all your nice comments as well. And sorry if we've missed any questions, feel free to put them down there and we can see them.
SPEAKER_01We had a little AI glitch midway, so we're that's why the camera's a bit met messed up. Um karma is that monks still experience suffering. They are empathetic and cease.
SPEAKER_00Can you read that, Leah? I'm a bit too far away. Uh there's you can and have see the same hardships we all see around the world. They don't complain about it, they pray, meditate, and do peaceful walks, same humans, different paths. Yeah, exactly. That is a great example of um being conscious. Same same suffering, um, but it's having a more conscious approach.
SPEAKER_01Okay, and Rishi is saying how to expand consciousness, how to heal soul if soul feels wounded from past life. I cannot talk more about it. I only want to listen with an open heart. Yeah, it's a good question, Rishi, and I think you know, the healing, when you get on the healing path, and when you embrace you know these tools, meditation, you know, healing your body, you know, creating a fit, healthy body, creating a positive mindset, creating becoming more compassionate and loving. These are all the things that we can do to to help us to heal our soul and to expand our consciousness. And I think you know, when you vibe higher, there's you know, we get helped on this planet, you know, we are souls experienced having a human experience, but there are entities and beings all around us, and we were again talking about this last night when we were camping. When your vibration is high, there are entities and souls that can help us, you know, and they're of a high vibrational energy, so you're kind of tuning into a frequency that allows that healing to come into your life. But if you are stuck in addiction, you're stuck in low vibrational habits and you're not disciplined, you know, and you know, being a drug addict, for example, is is a good example where you know entities can attach themselves to you because your vibration is so low and they feed off your pain and your discomfort. And so, you know, that's an important understanding, important thing to realize that you know, as higher the higher you go, the more you connect with high vibrational energetic beings that you can't necessarily see, but are here, and they want to help you, they want to be they're benevolent. Um and I've experienced that, you know, I've experienced that low vibrational life, and that's you know having this heaviness, this you know, struggling through life and feeling like there was no help, and you know, I honestly think I I had entities that were attached to me that were feeding off me and keeping me in this spiral, this uh spiral that I've long since broken out of. So, yeah, that's uh a big lesson to take forward, and and I and I love and that's why you know we both talk about this. We crave and we're always sharing ideas on how can we go higher, how can we live more authentically, more you know, um, and we're we're our own best confident. We can talk to each other about anything, you know. Lee knows things about me, nobody else knows, and vice versa, because we know that we can help each other in those moments where we are maybe struggling and stuck in some way that we know we've got to clear something, but you can ruminate and you get stuck in it. So, you know, I'm blessed that I've got Lee that I can talk to about things, and he you know, him with me, and you you'll have that, you'll have either a family member or really close friends, some soul that you've connected with in this lifetime that you can share your problems with, you know, in a trustful, honest way, and they can help you. And so it's always good to do that, it's always good to talk to others, and you know, uh ask for help. You know, that's one of the things, especially being a man, you know, a lot of men in in therapy. I found a lot of men wouldn't open up because they'd their problems they felt they had to deal with it on their own, you know. They were brought up, brought up in a way that they had to suck it up and stiff up a lip, all that kind of thing, and you know, so they don't then don't know how to go inside and how to heal. But it's one of the most liberating things you can do. And the first thing to do is you know, find somebody who you've got a connection with who you trust and talk to them, you know, or or a good therapist if you need that help, because this is the opportunity, this lifetime is a golden opportunity for us to heal, heal, heal our wounds, uh past life trauma. Um, you know, and I I've been on a in uh an amazing journey doing that, even with plant medicine. Ayahuasca, I got into that so much that helped me heal in ways that I never realized I could heal, and and it's it's amazing. So seek the help if you need it, ask for it. You know, speak to people that you love and you trust, and there's it will come to you when you put it out there. The right teacher will come to you, the right person will come into your life. It's always out there for you.
SPEAKER_00Um you got I think you got another question, Daddy. Which one's that? Just the last one at the bottom there.
SPEAKER_01Uh Susanna, so thank you for the time and it's a beautiful afternoon. Life is beautiful, and you have helped me with your meditations in the past two years. I've listened every day, even in bad days, and you helped me see that life is beautiful. I love that, Susanna. It really is. You know, it's a it's a beautiful life, and it's a golden opportunity for us to progress. You know, it's almost like um, you know, an opportunity. It's like um an opportunity to graduate in this life. Um, you know, to to go higher and to work on ourselves and yeah, to have that discipline. And Megan's saying I've been hearing them since in the UK. I told them not to bother, I was committed to higher consciousness, and they stopped. I would never believe until experiencing experiencing it. Staying in our power is the key to consciousness, mind, body, and spirit, yeah. And you know, Megan's uh a beloved member of my uh community and my app community, and I've watched Megan's progress over the last five years, and it's been an amazing journey, and Megan is an absolute warrior. You know, everything we've talked about on this journey, you know, coming from a wounded background, trauma, struggle, you know. I I know a bit of Megan's story, and she had so much of that in her younger life, but she's been committed to this healing path, and she's gone on it like an absolute warrior, and I've got so much respect for her. And at times she's you know struggled, you know, because you you work and work and work, and then something else comes along, hits you in the face, and you think, Oh god, what's what's it? I thought I'd gone beyond this, but you don't. Life challenges you in that way, you know. Just when you think you're coasting, something can come along out of the blue and knock you off your perch. And at those times, you've always got to come back to your meditations, your spiritual work, and look for you know help in those at those times because that's the journey, you know. Life is full of ups and downs and challenges, and you know, I'm at the no illusions. We talked about this amazing life we've created and the love we've got, and but you just never know what's around the corner. There could be a new life lesson that comes along that knocks you off your perch. And but I've seen Megan time and time again, you know, like a boxer on the ropes, you know, you get beaten up, and then you come back and you find another way, and you shine brighter all the all the way along this journey, you shine brighter, and that's it, you know, that's the journey along life.
SPEAKER_00And um Pam Pammy's asked that question a couple of times, so if you can address that one, does it help with physical pain, specifically the hip? Um does what help? I'm not I'm not sure. Uh don't answer that my question.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean I've I've um yeah the hip that definitely I've I've um you know like I said I'm 64 now I love playing sport, you know, sport is my outlet. I play tennis and paddle, and you know, for Lee, Lee's a jiu-jitsu, you know, Lee's gonna be a jiu-jitsu black belt in a couple of years' time. Jiu-jitsu is the hardest black belt to achieve. But you know, through training four times a week and grappling with these these brutes.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I'm a purple belt at the moment.
SPEAKER_01Purple belt, but you're a couple of years away from becoming a black belt, and you're you know, you're gonna become a black belt because you're on that trajectory. Yeah, yeah, hopefully. It's not if, it's when, isn't it?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, hopefully.
SPEAKER_01You know, and that takes a supreme amount of discipline to do that, you know, where you're wrestling, you're getting beaten up. You know, I've seen you getting beaten up on a mat in a very you know controlled environment, a respectful environment, but you you get beaten up, you've come black eyes, you know, you've got a cauliflower ear, isn't it? You know, but that takes courage and that takes discipline to work on that. And jujitsu is an amazing thing for you know your kids or young men and young women to learn discipline and and and strength. And so going back to your question, I don't want to evade that question because yeah, for me, I play football, tennis, paddle, and it's harder as you get older, 64, you know, it gets harder because you're you don't recover as easily. But I've done so much work on my back, my knees, my ankle to retain my fitness. I work so much on that because I want to keep doing it, and so yeah, whatever problem you've got, you know, nowadays with you've got red light therapy, you've got magnetotherapy, you've got you can supplement for your particular injuries uh in your body, you can you can optimize your fitness and your health, and and I I talked about this on my webinar and my app the other day. You can use AI to uh kind of look at your problem, whether it's your hip, your ankle, whatever it is, and ask for the optimum kind of nutrition that can help with that particular ailment and the optimum kind of workout you can do. Um, and I did that with my back.
